Meet Daniel Jackson
Mountain biker, award-winning designer, illustrator, and videographer. An individual with a passion for creating work that gets remembered. He also enjoys the simplistic side of design. One that tells a surprising story and catches your eye. Speaks to a prospect in an unexpected way, creating interest in your product
or service.
That’s Daniel Jackson. A graduate of Mississippi State University, where he earned his BFA, with an emphasis in graphic design. A guy who loves a challenge, like managing multiple projects with extremely tight deadlines, or tackling a tough ad campaign that involves multiple mediums, such as social, web, video and print. Then unifying each, so the idea and message work consistently across all platforms.
He’s also a person who likes to take time away from his work. Especially following a day of intense brainstorming. It’s a way for him to refresh, and look at life and his ideas from a different perspective. He might take time to enjoy the great outdoors. Find a new trail for mountain biking. Go camping. Spend a little quality time with Mother Nature, or challenge his wife to a video game.
When it comes to those who have inspired Daniel’s work and his interest in design, the name Salvador Dali comes to mind. He’s drawn to Dali’s surrealism. “It’s interesting, almost dreamlike in an odd, kind of existential way,” says Daniel. He’s also an admirer of UK designer, Gregory Darroll. He admires his unique use of
color, textures, and storytelling in his illustrations.
Daniel’s first job, or “cool opportunity,” as he calls it, was working for the church he grew up in, where he was hired as a content creator. The job gave him the opportunity to work in multiple mediums like digital, print, video, collateral, and more. “What better way to gain a greater understanding of those worlds,” said Daniel. That marked the beginning of his introduction to the world advertising and marketing.
So, what brings Daniel to Chattanooga and Maycreate? He and his wife Hannah, have always wanted to be close to the mountains and nature. Daniel also likes the agency’s family atmosphere. It was the one thing he found different about Maycreate. With that in mind, the family says, “Welcome home.”
