A Client Success Story!
Maycreate had been developing an online ordering form for Events With Taste, a long-standing client and successful catering company in Chattanooga. The form was designed to serve their corporate client base. Then the Coronavirus shut down Chattanooga in mid-March and the corporate market for Events With Taste shut down with it.
At that point, the company decided they had to do something they’d never done before. Reach out to clients and their families, who were sheltering in place, offering them full-course meals to go. They began sending emails with menus announcing the new service.
Within two weeks, orders began pouring in, friends told friends, manual processing became overwhelming and that’s when Maycreate’s Project Manager, Abby Webb, called to ask if our client needed help. They agreed and the corporate online ordering form project was put on hold.
Our immediate assignment? The creative department had to come up with a quick, convenient, and touch free solution for their website that was seamless and put the process of online ordering in the customer’s hands. And the clock was ticking.
We called on Virginia Brooks, Maycreate’s Front-End Web Developer and Designer. First, she anticipated what customers would need from the form. Then she went to work creating an online ordering form that was both responsive and intuitive. Whether it was menu choices, contact or credit card information, checking and verifying orders, or time of pick-up, the form had to deliver, and Virginia made sure it did.
The ordering process also needed a generous dash of appetite appeal. Sarah Unger, Maycreate’s Photographer & Video Producer, has a way with a camera and the subtle aspects of light. She wanted to capture the vibrant colors, rich textures, and natural beauty of these innovative, chef-inspired dishes. Props were minimal, settings sparse, as the food took center stage.
Kat Bush, Art Director, was responsible for art direction and design for the site’s pages. Facing a tight deadline, Kat’s biggest challenge was to make the form and the process flow in a way that made perfect sense to our end user. “It was streamlining the design, organizing everything in one space that was visually appealing and simplified a very detailed process,” said Kat. “Ease of navigation for those ordering and those processing was a must,” she added.
What did our client Michelle Wells, Owner & Chef, think? “Maycreate worked wonders with our site. The next thing we know Events With Taste had online ordering, online processing and our staff was working 28 – 35 hours a week. We were elated! Oh, and I can’t forget, the entire process was touchless.”
