A full suite of event design built for the Congressional Medal of Honor Society’s annual Celebration, hosted in Chattanooga, the birthplace of the Medal of Honor.
The Congressional Medal of Honor Society brought Maycreate on to design and produce every printed and physical element for its annual convention, hosted in Chattanooga after the local Heritage Center won the bid. Maycreate delivered signage, invitations, menus, programs, video, and animation across an 11-month engagement.
The convention was a three-day series of distinct gatherings, each needing its own invitation and visual identity so recipients could tell at a glance which event they were walking into, all moving through layered approvals from the local committee up to the national Society.
Since Chattanooga is the birthplace of the Medal of Honor, we built the entire design language around a “welcome home” narrative, weaving real Chattanooga landmarks and history into everything from invitation illustrations to the color palettes distinguishing one event from another.
We designed 41 distinct deliverable types, utilizing local vendors at a cost and speed rare for an event this size.
The centerpiece of our work was a custom two-layer invitation box shipped to every recipient featuring a reveal-by-reveal design holding Chattanooga-rooted items like a Coca-Cola bottle, a Lodge cast iron piece, and a MoonPie alongside the formal invitation.
